Pig and Chicks

This week is National FFA week.  Members from FFA came to our room to teach us about agriculture, specifically pigs.  They brought a two day old piglet for the preschoolers to see and pet.  The P.M. class also got to hold baby chicks as Bryce brought his new chicks for us to see.

Child Development Class

The High School Child Development class visited our room.  They read stories, played Valentine Bingo and talked to us about foods to keep our hearts healthy.

Valentine's Day Parties

We celebrated Valentine's Day by having parties.  The children had been busy decorating boxes to hold  their cards.  They were excited to see the cards (and of course the candy) their friends gave them.  We ate cookies and made crafts.  Thank you parents for providing and helping with these parties.

Post Office Field Trip

The preschoolers have been making "mail" for their friends in the writing center and mailing their letters in the post office we have set up in our dramatic play center.  They made Valentines for their parents that we mailed at the Newell Post Office.  The children mailed their letter, canceled the stamp on their envelope and put it in the box to go to their parents.  We hope you enjoyed getting mail from your preschooler.

Pajama Party

We all had fun at our pajama party and learned about the letter P.  We wore pajamas and brought pillows or pillow pets.  We ate popcorn and drank punch for snack.  We watched a video about the letter P and read the story If You Give a Pig a Party.  We ended the party with pillow fights.  I think everyone's favorite part was the kids vs. teachers pillow fights.
